...this saturday i will be selling my wares at the Designers Makers Market at Old Spitalfield Market in east london...

this will be my first time selling here which is very exciting for me, firstly because i have spent many many MANY hours (and many £££) exploring the fabulous stalls at spitalfields in the past and secondly my first nursing job was at the Royal London hospital, it has been about five years since i was last in this area of london. I am excited that what brings me back to this area is From Chaos Comes Beauty, and not commuting to and from long shifts on the paediatric wards in the hospital!

Wil You Be My..?

..Valentine Collection.

I wanted to create a small limited run collection for valentines made up of pieces that are too over the top and cheesy. This collection features two designs, a classic heart and an anatomical heart, for the not-so-girly girl. The are available in necklace or bracelet form, for either wearing close to the heart, or on your sleeve.

This collection will only be available for a limited time, so if you like what you see you might want to snap one up sooner rather than later.

It is available to buy at my folksy store .

Well ahoy there me heartys!!!

as promised i am back after months of slaving away over a uni course with ideas for new designs bursting out of my ears!

first though a little update :) .....

I jumped on the lomography bandwagon....

which is proving to be alot of fun....over exposure....long exposure....double, triple, quadruple exposures........

plus i ran away to NYC with my man for a little while.....

when we came back he was officially my man, a custom alex monroe ring sealed the deal ;).....

and then i started bashing and sawing silver again ...

....i even popped some stones in some designs :)...

....and now i am working hard getting ready for the next crafty fox pop up shop..... i treated myself to a pretty new shop sign, i have been sewing new displays, painting new signs, designing new packaging .....

...and all this finished just in time with only one more day to go until the crafty fox pops up again ....

maybe i'll see you there! :)

...it has been rather busy this end ... i have just embarked on a rather intensive uni course, so it is going to be rather quiet at the From Chaos Comes Beauty camp until the course is finished in may, in the meantime though FCCB was lucky enough to be featured on the awesome She's Called Claire blog . :)

...also in the works is a new range of gemstone rings.... like the ones pictured below

on another note...i cant believe it is march (yikes) because that means it is almost april (YIKES!!!)...

...From Chaos Comes Beauty has a few things lined up for april, i wont tell you about the scary thing ... wouldn't want to jinx it now would we!....

the main thing is the second Crafty Fox Pop-Up Market, i am thrilled to be a part of this again and this time it is going to be even bigger and better than before!

I look forward to seeing some familiar faces there!

The very first Crafty Fox will take place at the awesome Dogstar bar in Brixton, on Saturday December 11th, including crafty workshops, DJs and lots of unique stalls selling beautiful things!

This will be my first craft market (eep!) so preparations are underway....

due to my constant stream of commissions i have had to be more efficient with my time,

producing my collections has taken the form of a factory line...

it saves an awful lot of time though!

finished pendants with different shades of enamel - when held up to the light they have a pretty stained glass window effect...

my new moo cards arrived!! im really pleased with the outcome..... now i just need to find some people to give them to!

below is my latest piece, an endless knot made from jade floating above a hand pierced lotus flower.

The Endless Knot symbolises the nature of reality where everything is interrelated, it has no beginning or end, it represents the infinite wisdom of the Buddha, and the union of compassion and wisdom. Also, it represents the illusory character of time, and long life as it is endless.

The jade aids in remembering dreams, helps in realization of potential. It helps provide confidence and self-sufficiency. In ancient times it was viewed as a sacred stone and aids in attaining a meditation state quickly and is a talisman of protection.

The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck.

I did some brainstorming with my man and he has given me some ideas of where to go with the lotus flowers.... expect to see more very soon!

these were fun to make, and the outcome was great, however - filing and polishing all those charms probably wore off a considerable amount of my fingers! a tumbler is next on my list... after an extortionately priced bangle mandrel :(

....finally... IM BACK!

......after being snowed under with uni work for the beginning of the year and then catching up with commissions i finally have time to get my act together,

heres a peak at what i've been up to.......


a tango inspired brooch, it was later enameled so the lady's silhouette was red and the guy's black, i won't post a picture of this as the only picture of the final piece is rubbish! so i shall leave it to your imagination!

a cat lover friend of mine wanted a matching bracelet charm and pendant


in between all this my man and i ran away to marrakesh for a little while!!! :D


they really like their cheese!!!!



i made myself a souvenier inspired by a hand of fatima charm i found in the 'artisan ensemble' a pretty awesome little market for people to display their crafts


the hand of fatima is a symbol for protection in morrocco, i think the howlite beads sit pretty well with it


annndddd i had my first try at inlaying silver in wood.... it was for a gift for my man (x) as you can see below...


it was pretty tricky as i did not have a clue what i was doing but im pleased wit the results. The silver has been hand pierced to reveal a pattern representing the fibbonacci sequence and then enamelled green in the spaces, then inlayed into the wooden box.



i think thats everything, i post some more commissions that i have just finished soon, also ill be updating my etsy and folksy pages as they have been rather neglected of late, ill also be working on new collections for not just a label so keep posted :)
