so i have been a bit MIA lately, but things are looking up - i have been experimenting and putting some ideas into action - with some interesting results.

I have jumped on the letter punching bandwagon, it's so much quicker than engraving - and as much as i love engraving letter punching is genius in its own way,

these are two silver stacking rings, in a matt finish, one says 'i am yours' and the second ' you are why i am' nice and romantic! i was going to hide the words inside but on these i decided to put them out there for the world to see, wearing your heart on your sleeve and all that jazz!

as you can see my photography is still lacking - i have my lightbox now but i cant make it bright enough!!! ironic isn't it!here is my first attempt at stone setting - amethyst earrings i am so pleased with the results!

and here is a cute little kitty necklace made for a friend as a thankyou for sorting out a website for me - yep thats right i will soon have a proper website!!!!!

grey's anatomy.............

anyone else fans? i'm so excited after i post this i'm going to watch episode 1 of season 5 on you tube!!!!! I love you tube!!!!!!

I thought i would experiment this week as I have had very limited sales on etsy :( I decided to put a couple of items on ebay (you can find them by clicking advanced search, seller, katherina1984)I love etsy and would not dream of leaving, I just thought it would be wise to explore avenues as well. So fingers crossed!! oh and i do ship internationally :)

so, the above items are on ebay and my love meter pendant featured in my last blog.

ok so i lied.......

.................i changed my mind about my new etsy listing for today,

i decided to go for the 'forget me not' necklace, i though this wednesday could do with some love adding to it, and this is my offering.

its a silver toned 'forget me not' pendant between two gorgeous swallows, with some beading to add a bit of prettiness. Its a romantic piece i see worn by a 1920's lady wearing in a cream chiffon and lace dress reading love poems sitting under a tree, thats how i picture it anyway.

Ever heard that fuel song?...............

..................it goes, 'i had a bad day again.......blahblahblahblahblahhhhhhhhh', yeah well that song has been going around my head all morning - rather fitting as my car broke down this morning, a week after spending billions on getting it fixed, (billions may be an exaggeration!) so i missed a very important appointment, and i also have no money to get it fixed ARGHHHHHHH,

Generosity that killed the cat...........................

...................or was it curiosity???!!! hehehe read on to find out what im on about :)

My man and i made the joint decision to sacrifice our music channels for the channel mix that is playing the new series of miami ink, i think i regret it i miss just playing the rock channels super loud when i'm making pretty things, hmmm maybe i need to treat myself to a fancy mp3 player hehe.

So new items this week are this black and bronze octopus necklace, i have been having a bit of fun experimenting with different materials and come up with some pretty cool things,



this is a matching set or earrings with bracelet, they are made from oxidised sterling silver with electric blue stars, unfortunately you cant see the colour in this photo - i am still working on my photography set up.these are my favourite - charm earrings in black and bronze, one featuring stars and one featuring a decorative heart.

i am currently waiting for a lightbox to arrive so then i plan to replace all my picture on etsy with beautiful clear ones, this is why not all of my items have been listed yet - my poor photography just does not do them justice!the above piece was made for a veryvery good friend of mine - we call her 'special' - its a private joke!!!

i miss my polo!..............

....................it broke (my car this is) so its being fixed, yet another thing to make these crazy two weeks even more crazy. It was my little lady Emma's 2nd birthday on the 26th - below is a picture of her with her birthday sausage,


for those of you who are about to report me for letting my puppy play with fire - i blew them out for her, her wish did come true - she got to eat the sausage!

i have been painting for the first time in a couple of months, a friend is off to a wedding on the other side of the world she asked me to make the following as gifts ...........
a painting of the couple getting married, i was given a photo to work from, i did it with a retro pop art sort of twist, i think it worked out well in the end...........

............and then two dove necklaces made from silver, one for the bride and one for the brides mother, as doves are for love and finally these silver earring with seashells as a gift to my friend, these are different to what i usually make, but i am rather pleased with them!

when the weekend is no longer a weekend......

..............when the weekend is used for working night shifts to scrape some extra money together for that new pair of shoes....................
......................... i love them!!! so i have given up my only weekend off in months to do a night shift, make two pendants and paint a portrait, who am i kidding i like to be busy!!!

.............. so this week i have been busy, i made two broken heart charms, one aimed at a girl or a guy, each half is from the same heart, i am really hoping a couple will buy them, but im guessing some miserable goth full of woes will buy one!!!
.............. the can be worn around the neck or on the sleeve, however i would like to point out i do not recommend wearing a broken heart on your sleeve it screams REBOUND! but then we've all been their have we not?!

.......................... this starry piece is my entry into the august etsy challenge on flickr, the subject was magic, i went for a voodoo take on the whole magic idea. Its cute im very fond of this piece

..............so now to my weekend of sleeplessness, and trying not to cut my fingers of with the saw..................

Screwballs are no more!!!!............................

........................ when asking the icecream van man for a screwball my mr got a very blank look, well it turns out they are now called hedgehogs because they have FOUR FLAKES! four! now i love flakes but i can not eat four then enjoy my icecream and then chew my bubblegum without wanting to vomit!.................................................................................................anyhow i have been remarkably slack lately due to the amount of night shifts i have been having to do, i have be a zombie for about two weeks now,............................ ......................i did manage to make this lucky number 7 bracelet though, its the first piece i have made for a man apart from rings so i tried to keep it masculine without making it plain and boring, hence the leather cord etc, the recipient was pleased though, WAHAY!.............................

............................ i am also trying to build up more of a collection of jewelery to put on my etsy page which is what the above piece is about, a nautical star created with silhouetting and etching, and finished with a bead and skull detail on the necklace to keep it girly but to make it a little more badass :) ...................................

silver never goes out of fashion..........

so, i've had a productive few days, a friend asked me to make a silver band with the inscription 'live forever' inside, pic below - inscription doesn't show very well in these pictures unfortunately but i think you can get the idea

i was really pleased with how the ring turned out, it was the first time that i have done engraving and i also had a short deadline for completing the ring as they guy wanted to give it to his lady before she went away a couple of days later.


This is another piece from my silhouette collection, it looks faaaabulous on, its size Q - R and is made from silver (of course!)

Anyway i'm off to barcelona for a few days in a week or two so then ill be forced to chill out and do nothing!

so i cut my finger and it hurt, then i did it again, and that hurt! then i did it again!! im officially dumb,

anyway this is why ................................. i was making stuffs again...........

Dove pendant, on a chain with a vintage style clasp. I absoloutely love this piece and really had trouble parting with it but its for a friends ladys birthday so i wont be cruel and keep it, maybe ill just steal it off her oneday when she's drunk so she wont remember!

your only as busy as you make yourself.............

...........so here are my latest bits of silver finery ;) the anklet is for a friend, i'm not overly big on hearts used in jewellery but i'm quite please with how this piece came out. Especially as it was my first attempt at anything this fiddily.

Its a silver anklet, my friend asked for a heart on it so i simply used some silver wire to create a clasp, this keeps the item as bulk free as possible as you dont want lots of dangly bits knocking around your ankle, would you??? I also attatched a safety chain just to make the piece more robust if thats the right word to use.


This is an extra thick silver band i made for a friend of my fiance, he wanted a simple chunky thumb ring that wouldn't make him look like he should be spending the evening at revenge in brighton if you catch my drift.














This is just another plain band i made for another friend, he also wanted a simple, plain silver band for his little finger.

















Its so difficult to come across decent plain bands locally - maybe i'v found a niche in the market for myself.

busy busy busy............

I have a week off work but not to rest - this has to be a really productive week - i need some extra cash!











I ordered some business cards a few days ago - i designed them myself and i'm itching to see how they come out - then i can start spreading the word!

















these are some paintings i have done recently, some are for sale and some are already sold so get in touch if you like any of them. I ran out of silver and i have so many ideas for jewellery to make - i have ordered a load so i'm really hoping it will arrive tomorrow.


its such a beautiful day i'm going to take the dogs out and make the most of it!!!!!!
